RANDY PAUSCH
TIME MANAGEMENT
Success is measured by the amount of time you get to do things for fun. The time you spend doing the things that you like and the time you spend with your family is more valuable than money, because money can be earned at any moment, but the time you waste doesn’t come back.
First of all, to be effective in the management of time you have to decide what things are the most important, and what things have to be done urgently. Randy Pausch suggests that you have to do first the things that are important, and let the unimportant things for later, because many people waste their lives doing what has to be done urgently and never do things that are significant.
on the other hand, other key to save time is organisation. He suggests that one should organize every document in the house in one place, and arrange them in alphabetical order, he says that that idea has helped him a lot in his marriage. Another thing is to have the inbox of the email clear. Not to accumulate more than 20 messages, and instead, saving every message in different folders.
In conclusion, those ideas are very productive and are available for everyone. An example of this is the speakerphone, the hand free set for the cell phone, and keeping something to do in your desk, so when someone calls you, you can hang up knowing that you could use the time you waste on the phone in something more productive. This ideas work for everybody and are very easy to apply, but, as Randy said, you have to train yourself to this, and it will save you lots of time.
