AUSTRALIAN CRIMINAL VALUES

ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY

We can’t say that criminals have values, because a person who commits any crime is against the law and society. But criminals also have beliefs and convictions, and that may be considered some sort of value. Many Australians are in jail outside Australia. The most of them for drug trafficking. We don’t know if these people have values. Maybe they do, and maybe they believe that trafficking drugs is not against their values.

Firstly, One of the Australians that is arrested outside Australia is Michael Dennis Rohan, he is famous because he attempted to set fire to the Al-Aqsa mosque, located atop the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. He believed that he was sent by God to destroy the mosqe so the jews could rebuild their temple. This may be one of the cases when a criminal has values. In this case, he was defending his religion.

But, people think that he was crazy, and he did what he did because of his mental condition. Maybe every criminal who thinks that has values is simply crazy. What they think that is right is not right for others, so their values are distorted. Criminals with values suffer some kind of social distortion.

In conclusion, values are not against society. Anyone who threads society has no real values. Maybe all this Australians who have been arrested trafficking drugs have their own moral system, but from my point of view their values are inverted.
